When one adult bald eagle is on nest watching duty, they at times fly nearby to grab a stick, small branch, grass, or pine sprig to add to the nest. Today was no exception.

The eagles from this nest tend to grab grass from the field below and branches and sprigs from nearby trees. The parents lost an eaglet each of the last two years. Here’s hoping the three in the nest grow up to reach adulthood. The parents are keeping them well fed and are doing their part to try to keep them safe. Fingers crossed.

Get out and enjoy the nice days! Have a great Monday!
What nice images. They are tough to capture I think when flying about .

Easier when there is a field in front of their nest. We don’t get to see them fishing because there are railroad tracks on the river. We get to see them fly across the field with fish sometimes or in this case parts of branches.

We don’t always think of eagles as nest builders, but they are and in a big scale. We saw a similar sight a couple of years ago and the twig being carried was more like a branch. Happy Tuesday Sharon. Allan

I have seen them carry in a stick. When the babies hatch you see more grass and sprigs like this being brought in. I guess they are trying to make it more comfortable for the eaglets.

Wonderful captures of the eagles in motion. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the family also.
