There are a lot of great egrets at Assateague. You can many times see them just as you cross over the bridge onto the island. From the island side if you look on both sides of the road at the marsh areas you usually see a few on each side after the bridge.

These were all taken on the bay side of the island from a kayak.

I mostly saw egrets standing on trees, or standing next to the water in the grasses. They pose great for pictures!
I had this scheduled to post last week with another one. It did not work. I have yet to get a scheduled post to work with Word Press. The guy kept telling me it was published. This did not show up until I put it up as immediately tonight. He also said it would show up after someone visited my site after the scheduled date and time- people visited and commented on my page, but did not post.

I regularly schedule posts and only a couple times has it failed. I consistently use the same time, although I sometimes vary it by a minute or two. So far it’s been working well for the last 2-3 years. Contact me via my email if you have specific questions.

I have only tried it a few times and it has never worked. I spent a lot of time with WP repeating myself many times.

Love the shots with the background blurred!

I kind of do as well. Sometimes it is good to put focus on the subject.

Has to be one of the world’s most elegant birds! Mind you, that’s why their feathers were sought after by milliners!

Don’t think I saw it catch a fish. It stayed there in one place like a statue for a while though. Yes, they seem elegant. Did not know their feathers were highly desired by milliners. Thanks for the info!

Yes it contributed to a significant drop in numbers until they were protected.

Thanks! The bird made it easy. Spent a lot of time just standing there.
