I saw these when I went on a walk. They were very far away. I took these with a zoom lens and the images were heavily cropped. They are not sharp, but most likely the best I will get as I never see these owls up as close as I have seen snowies or barred owls. Maybe someday I will get lucky.

Get out an enjoy nature. There is a lot to see out there.
Fabulous action captues. Wow!

I would love to see the shots of the people who had serious zooms there.

Considering how far away it was and how much I had to crop them, I can’t expect sharper than I had.

Wow! Did the Harrier attack the owl, or vice-versa? It must have been hard to tell from such a long distance.

I think what happened was the owl had it first and the harrier tried to get it. I could be wrong though. After that the owl was relentlessly chasing the harrier for a long time.

I think people with the big guns ( expensive long lens) got much better shots. Not bad for being really far away.

Nice pictures! Lots of movement and still they are clear shots of the owls.

Not bad for so far away. Still hoping to get closer fly bys in the future.

Nice action, movement photos. Most times I am happy if the creatures are statuary like in the wild.
You still brought home some “bacon”.

I saw one sit on a rock, but it was facing the opposite way. Still it was far away. Some are lucky enough to catch them on a pole or fence post.

I know! Last year I did not get this lucky. I am happy I got to see these in action, even if it was so far away.

Good captures Sharon. Owls are fascinating. We saw a huge barred owl yesterday on our forest walk. I managed one photo of him before he flew off. Happy Saturday. Allan

Nice! Kids should be on their own now. I don’t know how far they venture in winter from where they choose to lay eggs in a tree hole. Keep going back to that area and look for possible tree holes. Come spring you may find them in the same area, but with some owlets to feed.

They are still incredible shots. Few people ever even see this owl behavior in nature.
