Sometimes things just catch your eye. This pub barrel caught my attention the first day I was in England. The pub had 2 or 3 barrels outside the building, and this was one of them. I am not sure if they served as additional overflow tables or if they were just there for decor.

I love the flags and lettering painted on the barrel. Some say only Americans have their flags displayed everywhere. I beg to differ. There are a variety of items on which the British place their flags. Pubs are one place you may see a British flag in some form.
They make great signs Sharon and may have at one time held brandy or rum. Hard to beat a good British or Irish pub. Have a great evening. Allan

Love the inside decor on a lot of these places although I think I did not take pictures inside of anything other than a vegetable tart I loved. Most places were crowded.

Nice. Beer and Sausages. Although I think they refer to them by a different name.

Unfortunately for health reasons I cannot have either, but I like a soda a lot of pubs carry J2O. You cannot get it in the states. It is fruity , but not so sugary as juice or soda in the states. Otherwise I drink tea or still water. A lot of pubs have at least one curry or Indian dish on the menu that is great. Sometimes you can find one that has good vegetable heavy dishes like the vegetable tart I loved. I will probably include that in a future post.

I agree.
Here in Italy we are maybe less used to flags.

Canadians fly flags in the summer. I see nothing wrong with other countries displaying or flying them. Even in countries that usually donβt like during the Olympics or World Cup those flags come out.

I had to darken out the background on the top as there were people who did not want to show up in the shots, so I made into into kind of a frame effect around it.
