The meadowlark is said to be in my area all year long. It is the first time I have captured one on camera. I was on a low level as compared to it. I have heard meadowlarks calling before in grass land areas, but fail to spot one. This one landed on the railing of a viewing platform.

Have a great week! Here’s hoping you have some sunny days!
What a serendipity!!

I like its song! This is taken from a distance and heavily cropped.

I sent a message to word press quoting what their message said when I click on your blog name. It acts like you do not have an active blog. You used to be able to contact them at night and get someone on live chat to try to resolve it. Those days are gone.

Such a pretty bird. I used to hear the meadowlark’s call all the time when we lived in Manitoba. Even though the Western Meadowlark’s range includes my area, I have never heard one here. Thanks for sharing Sharon. Allan

It is! I saw and heard one again tonight, but it picked a perching spot in a tree surrounded by branches and twigs.
