Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. Author Unknown
The pictures below were all taken recently in the Hudson Valley of New York. Some animals stay here the entire year. Others come from regions further north to winter here. Hopefully, I will catch some of these winter visitors soon.

Shawangunk Grasslands National Wildlife Refuge
The next photos are from a short trip I took a wildlife refuge. I hope to return there this weekend weather permitting.

Fall unofficially ended today with a major snowstorm. We could get over a foot by the time it passes through. Did the animals know a storm would be arriving soon? Do animals sense these things? Can they forecast weather?

It takes great skill to photograph in motion and in such vivid details . Beautiful photos, Sharon. I’m learning the names too, the three bluebirds in a row look so fine.

Thanks! My camera does not compare to the other animal paparazzi that show up. I think their lens may be worth more than my car. You can tell I am envious in that area. Always trying to improve myself. Just finished another class.

First time I had bluebirds follow me when hiking in area like that. The ones in fields near me keep a distance.

I think animals sense weather and geologic events. It snowed in NYC. I can’t wait to get out today.

I hope to get out this weekend. Shoveling my car out tuckered me out. I am afraid I will have to shovel myself into a spot at work tomorrow. We do not have a lot.
