Where can you see some great doors leading up to Christmas? Head to Newport, Rhode Island. On the streets intersecting Thames Street in the historic waterfront area you will see some nice old houses and buildings. Some date back to the early 1700s.

The doors are perfect paintings; a relief from the picture world I’ve created for myself. Gary Hume
I am partial to doors and windows. I enjoy seeing unique ones on my travels. Are you partial to doors?
Lovely old styles. Have you ever gone to Essex CT. Some historic homes there too

No. It sounds like a new day trip. Thanks for the tip! I always take recommendations 😀. Some day I would like to see the mansions there when flowers are in bloom.

Yes! Partial to doors. A door can symbolize the transition and passageway from place or world to another.
A red door often meant “welcome” in an old early American tradition. If a family had a red front door tired travelers traveling by horse and buggy would know that a home was a welcoming place to rest. … In Scotland, homeowners would paint their front door red to signify that they had paid off their mortgage.

Interesting! In England they filled in windows at one point because houses were taxed based on how many windows they had. On some of the old houses you can see where some windows used to be.
