I had to stop by after work. The weather has not cooperated, but I can not do anything about that. No drama today. The crows did a fly by , but did not see the parent.
It looks like one owl was winking at me. I am sure it had something in his eye though. The parent tries to be stealth around the nest. It did not work today. It has no problem being photographed away from the nest.
Get out and enjoy nature. It is the perfect socially distant activity.

This owl you have to keep a good distance from. They will attack an eagle or a hawk to get its nest or their babies.

Sometimes I suspect they are thinking oh it’s just Sharon. Usually one of the owlets takes a nap after looking at me for a few minutes.

I think one of the parents killed a crow because they are harassing one of them in their own little gang. The owl fought a hawk to get this nest. It was the hawk’s.

Some owls that have been unsuccessfully used as pets might have a reaction to a human due to its history of interactions with them. However, largely, owls do not care one way or the other for humans.
Pretty much the same with most politicians!

I think they great horned definitely could do without people. The barred may be different. Either I am good at spotting them or others are less observant . I got to see one family many times last year. Some searched for them and never found them.

Either luck or certain people they feel no not threatened around. People walking dogs or walking and talking in groups usually dont spot them.
